Kate (Quayle) Havel moved to Marquette before she was a year old and lived there until she graduated from the Marquette school system in 1999. She graduated from Michigan State University in 2004 with a degree in merchandising management. Following graduation, she moved to New York and then Chicago working in the fields of fashion merchandising and human resources for companies such as Target, The Gap and Victoria’s Secret. During her time in Chicago, Kate also earned a master’s degree in human resources from DePaul University.

In 2010, much to the relief of their family and friends, Kate married Patrick Havel after dating for a long, long time and the couple moved to Marquette shortly thereafter.  She was hired by Range Bank in 2011 and is currently their Personnel and Payroll Manager.  Kate and Patrick reside in Marquette with their two children Maddy, 2, and Mason, 1.

In her free time (ha!) Kate enjoys yoga, starting but not finishing DIY home projects, and playing with her children. She most recently spearheaded a fundraising project which raised more than $8,000 for a local three year old with a rare form of cancer. Kate is actively involved with 40 Below on the Events Committee, Annual Conference Task Force, and frequents 40b social events.
