Jason Schneider, Executive Director, Marquette Chamber of Commerce
Jason is a social entrepreneur at heart. He moved to Marquette from California in 1996 to attend NMU Where he attained a degree in History and Economics. He has a strong back ground in business and local government. Always seeking to try new things, and challenge himself he has spent most of his professional life as an entrepreneur or consultant helping others achieve their visions. He has worked with over 500 business clients in Marquette, Australia, Vietnam and the Kingdom of Tonga. Outside of the business realm, his community involvement has led him to serve in a wide range of endeavors including serving as an elected city commissioner, the president of the Marquette Food Cooperative, and a founding board member to both the Dead River Roller Derby and the Upper Peninsula Climbers Coalition.
Jenna Zdunek, Chief Executive Officer, YMCA of Marquette County
Jenna was born in California and her family re-located to the UP at a young age. She loved Track and Cross Country and graduated from Kingsford High School in 98’ and signed on to run on the NMU Cross Country team. She ran for NMU while pursing her degree in Community Health Education. Jenna started working at the YMCA in 2001 while attending NMU as a Wellness Center Staff, Personal Trainer and Group Exercise Instructor. She continued her YMCA education and passion and got various certifications in the health and wellness department.
Jenna loved the Y from the very start and knew she wanted to focus on a career in the YMCA. Immediately after graduating from NMU, she became the Health and Fitness Director in 2004. She was asked to take on the Interim CEO role in March, 2016 and became the permanent CEO in January 2017. Jenna is an adjunct professor in the Health and Human performance department at Northern Michigan University. She teaches Health Communication and Grant Writing. Jenna sits on the Marquette Rotary board of directors, ACHIEVE Community Wellness Committee and other various committees and boards in Marquette County. Jenna is married to Jason a Marquette native and has two sons Braylon, 8 and Nolan, 3 and still enjoys to run!
Dress attire for the conference is business casual. Conference attendees will be provided a few sheets of paper and pens for taking notes in each session. Remember to bring plenty of business cards!
