2015 U.P. Young Professionals Conference: That’s a Wrap!
The Upper Peninsula Young Professionals Conference hosted by 40 Below: Marquette County Young Professionals was held on September 25, 2015. This years’ conference drew more than 100 attendees from counties across the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. Upon arrival, attendees were provided personalized folders, name tags with designated locations, sessions as well as morning refreshments. The morning of conference provided an hour of registration that allowed for networking opportunities and complimentary professional head shots.
The conference keynote speaker was Marquette native, Mark Hangen, Founder and CEO of local Marquette business, Easy Ice. Mark provided exceptional business techniques and strategies on how to grow your business successfully. Mark elaborated on his business methods and enlightened many young entrepreneurs in attendance. After the keynote, there were nine breakout sessions including topics such as financial planning, work-life balance and labor laws. The conference committee took a nontraditional approach and incorporated downtown businesses as hosts of the afternoon breakout sessions. These locations included the Upper Peninsula Masonic Center, Steinhaus, The Rover, Landmark Inn and The 906 Sports Bar & Grill. Through informative breakout sessions, panels, and networking opportunities, attendees of the conference developed new skills to encourage professional/personal development and grow their company's bottom line.
